The Periodic Table lists all known elements and their abbreviations. Since new elements are still being discovered, the Periodic Table continues to grow. In 2019, the American Chemical Society and other organizations will celebrate the International Year of the Periodic Table to commemorate the 150th anniversary of Dmitri Mendeleev’s creation of the modern Periodic Table in 1869.
